The short version
It started with a borrowed book.
Mara left a well-loved poetry collection on a train. Quill found it, read the pencilled margins, and spent the next week trying to return it.
Three years, two cities, and an unreasonable number of Sunday breakfasts later, we are still passing things back and forth: books, ideas, and the last piece of cake.
Now we get to make it official.
